East Bay Series

The East Bay Series (EBS) takes place monthly (except for August and December) on a Wednesday evening at the beautiful Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville. The EBS theme is “real-life stories of entrepreneurial success,” reflecting how we use real-life experiences to give you practical recommendations with great take-away value.

The format is a moderated panel discussion, typically with between three and five members – usually VCs and experienced entrepreneurs – on the panel. We normally have between 20 and 30 (though occasionally as many as 50) attendees, most of whom are entrepreneurs, service providers, or funding professionals.

Pre- and post-event networking and a tasty buffet dinner offer excellent opportunities to make valuable new contacts.

Topics

Most of the event topics relate to the process of obtaining funding, such as:

  • The Changing Landscape of Early-stage Funding
  • Picking the Right VC
  • Closing the Deal: Terms and Valuations
  • What’s Hot – What VCs Like and Why

We occasionally sprinkle in other topics, however, usually based on either market sectors (cleantech, software) or operational challenges (marketing, sales).

Cost

Online pre-registration (which is subject to a modest Acteva processing fee and closes at 9 am the day of the event):

  • SVASE members and members of affiliates that advertise the event - $25
  • General public - $35

Walk-in: Add $10 to the rates above.
